East Riding

YPEG Group

Together we are unstoppable in making positive change happen.

The Hear Me Out Young Person’s Engagement Group is made up of young people aged 14-25 with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

We meet up in Bridlington and the surrounding areas in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The aim of the group is to make new friends, have fun, learn about what affects us and to tell others what we want: to have our voices heard!

We do this by linking with local services to share our feedback and ideas to help improve those services for young people with SEND.

We also take part in fun and creative activities in half-terms and over the summer holidays.

What happens in a session ?

We get together every other Friday evening and catch up with our friends. You can always count on free food, hot chocolates and crafting. We sometimes make our own dinners, too. Every session is different depending on who we’re working with or what we’re working on.

What sort of things do the groups do to make a difference?

We travel across the country to deliver workshops to many types of SEND services.  We talk to local authorities, health services, schools and colleges and more, to help improve the way they support and work with those with SEND.

We also work with the Department for Education to include the voice of young people in creating & improving policy.

“Make new friends, have fun, and get your voice heard”
