About Kids

Two young people outdoors. One has face paint. Both are smiling.

KIDS is a national charity, founded in 1970, that provides a wide range of services to disabled children, young people and their families in England. We support children from babies through to young adults, whatever their disability. Our services include: drop-in crèches and nurseries for the under 5s to youth clubs, short breaks and residential stays for young adults.

In 2021 we delivered over 190,000 hours of support to around 12,000 disabled children, young people and family members. Commissioners and users appreciate the high quality of our information, advice and mediation services and 96% of parents say they are happy with the KIDS services they receive.

We act with disabled children, young people and their families to change the system and secure the resources to which they are entitled. We create opportunities for them to take part in play, learning, leisure, skills training and social activities. Above all we empower disabled children and young people to achieve equal rights and opportunities, creating a more inclusive society for all.
